What is LTPO Technology?

LTPO is a cutting-edge backplane technology that enables OLED screens to dynamically adjust their refresh rates. This means that displays can switch between high and low refresh rates based on the content being viewed, all while conserving battery life. The result is not only a smoother and more fluid touch experience but also a reduction in power consumption, addressing one of the biggest concerns for smartphone users.

In previous iPhone models, LTPO technology has been exclusive to the Pro variants, which also feature the always-on display functionality. However, the expected shift in 2025 suggests that the era of standard 60Hz displays in iPhones may soon be coming to an end.
