Student housing network start-up, Homversity, recently closed a $1 million Pre-Series A round, thus marking a remarkable milestone in the company’s journey. The round has been led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV), which also saw participation from several marquee investors that include Shuru-Up, Value Angels, Vinners Group, TAS, Pro-Growth Ventures, Growth 91, along with some of the other well-known venture capital players.
It would seek to use the amount of funding to strengthen its leadership as one of the largest scale providers for the student housing space. As part of Homversity’s strategy, the company seeks to penetrate markets, increase services and, subsequently, enhance student accommodations, making the company an extremely premium and efficient platform in reaching India’s vast markets with housing solutions that serve their growth need as well as offering better experiences of staying by students.
Homversity, a quality housing company dedicated to student accommodation, has created its platform for diverse students seeking accommodation close to schools. This round of funding will enable the company to reinforce its operations and capitalize on the huge, unpenetrated market of student accommodation in India. As stated by the company, these investments will give the much-needed resources to scale up operations and enhance their offerings as more student-centric housing solutions designed to reach a much wider audience across the country would be developed.
The start-up plans to use the newly secured funds to accelerate its growth initiatives and expand its presence in India. This will include increasing its market penetration by building stronger partnerships with educational institutions, expanding its inventory of student accommodations, and improving its platform to offer better user experiences.
Homversity vision is to be a premium player in the student housing space through an array of quality safe housing options, set at the standards of quality, convenience, and affordability. The funding will support efforts toward establishing a scalable, sustainable operating model that allows Homversity to grow rapidly but at a high level of service quality.
Saurav Kumar Sinha, Founder and CEO of Homversity, shared his excitement about the recent funding, emphasizing the company’s commitment to solving the student housing crisis in India. According to Sinha, “Homversity is working diligently towards addressing the student housing issue in India and uplifting the entire sector. With IPV’s expertise and their past experience working with companies targeting mass audiences, we are confident that this partnership will help us take the next step in expanding our reach and improving the student housing experience for millions of students.”
The funding comes at the right time when the demand for student housing is increasing in India due to the rise of students moving to other cities for higher education. In fact, industry estimates of the Indian student housing market have a huge potential for growth within the next few years, mainly due to the fact that students are looking for more convenient and reliable housing options. Homversity looks to capitalize on this surging demand with quality, affordable, and student-friendly accommodation solutions across major cities in India.
The investors backing Homversity bring in a wealth of experience and strategic insight to the table. Inflection Point Ventures (IPV), the lead investor in this round, has a track record of working with innovative start-ups across various industries. Their investment along with strategic investments from Shuru-Up, Value Angels, and Vinners Group will help Homversity scale to a wider reach across India. Such investors provide more than just financial support; they also guide and mentor. This is expected to help the company perfect its business model and increase operational efficiency to eventually capture more student housing.
Homversity is looking to move forward with its plans for growth and expansion, but this is not without focusing on the value that students and landlords will get from its service. It’s through offering a trusted platform where students can find reliable housing options and giving landlords a streamlined way of managing their properties that Homversity is going to lead in the student housing market. The money raised during this round will help the company maintain momentum in developing a sustainable and student-friendly housing ecosystem while ensuring high standards in service, safety, and convenience.
With a proper vision for the future, Homversity is ready to remake the student housing landscape across India, making sure there is quality accommodation for their students according to their expectations and needs. The investments will help Homversity take their platform to the next level as well as make a lifelong impact on the student housing industries in India.
