Aira Technologies, a Saratoga, CA-based company specializing in AI-powered cellular network infrastructure, has successfully raised $14.5 million in Series B funding. The round was led by AT&T Ventures, Intel Capital, IQT, Juniper, and JTM LLC, alongside existing investors NeoTribe and Acrew. This new capital will help Aira accelerate its AI/ML-driven solutions aimed at improving network operating, energy, and spectral efficiency.

With the global surge in mobile data traffic, mobile network operators (MNOs) face increasing pressure to optimize their operations while managing rising costs. Aira Technologies envisions leveraging machine learning to revolutionize wireless network design, deployment, and control, driving improvements in radio access network (RAN) performance. The company aims to create a fully autonomous, self-learning RAN that can meet the future demands of wireless communications.
Jon Chait, General Partner at IQT, emphasized the strategic importance of Aira’s work, noting the growing U.S. leadership in AI/ML technologies and their vital role in national infrastructure. He added that Aira’s unique application of AI/ML to communications networks positions it as an essential investment opportunity.
Aira’s innovations in the field have been notable. This year, the company launched the world’s first AI-based channel estimation and prediction xApp, earning the Telecom Infrastructure Project’s “Silver Badge.” Aira has also collaborated with Intel on AI-based high-fidelity MIMO (Multiple Input, Multiple Output) channel estimation to enhance 5G MU-MIMO efficiency and throughput.
The latest milestone for Aira is the introduction of its Naavik platform, a GenAI-based solution designed to transform network operations. Naavik incorporates advanced automation and natural language processing, allowing network operators to interact with data in a more intuitive, conversational way. The platform reduces task completion time from months to just days, improving visibility, control, and automation within the RAN and paving the way for autonomous networks.
Cristina Rodriguez, Vice President and General Manager of Comms Solutions Group at Intel, expressed excitement about Aira’s potential to optimize RAN performance and energy efficiency. She highlighted how Aira’s integration with Intel Xeon processors and FlexRAN software simplifies AI/ML deployment, enabling operators to quickly realize operational and cost benefits.
Aira’s founders, including CEO Anand Chandrasekher, are focused on building the next-generation telecom networks. The company’s goal is to continue advancing its self-learning RAN technology to support the growing demands of wireless communications and improve network performance for MNOs globally. With the backing of prominent investors and strategic partnerships, Aira is positioned to lead the way in AI-powered network transformation.
The Series B funding round represents a significant step in Aira’s mission to create autonomous, intelligent networks capable of handling the future demands of telecommunications.
