Eagle Electronics is a rising star in the high-tech electronics and cellular module production business that has just raised $14 million in funding to set up a world-class manufacturing facility in Solon, Ohio. The O.H.I.O. Fund led the investment round with Asymmetric Capital Partners investing in the deal as well.
This new manufacturing plant, built in partnership with CO-AX Technology, is going to revolutionize U.S. electronics manufacturing by bringing advanced technology operations to the country. Onshoreing critical technologies and enhancing the homegrown supply chain for critical high-tech components is an essential strategic focus of the company, particularly in the semiconductor sector.
TJ Dembinski, co-founder and CEO of Eagle Electronics, said, “This is a landmark moment for Eagle and our vision of onshoring and securing America’s critical technologies. We want to establish a new standard for electronics manufacturing in the U.S., combining advanced automation with rigorous cybersecurity testing to secure the entire supply chain.”. Our mission is to bring key knowledge and technologies back to U.S. soil, fortifying the country’s leadership in the chip industry.”
The newly inaugurated facility in Solon, Ohio, will be one of the most advanced electronics manufacturing plants in the country. This plant will be installed with high-end surface-mount technology (SMT) manufacturing equipment, which will enable the company to meet the growing demand for sophisticated electronics. This will also lead to the creation of new jobs, which will further cement the position of Ohio in the ranking of major US-based semiconductor hubs. Ohio’s Lt. Governor Jon Husted added, “Eagle’s new venture further strengthens Ohio’s position as a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing.”. The company’s presence in Northeast Ohio is helping to create more jobs and solidify the state’s ‘Made in Ohio’ strategy.
Eagle Electronics is already seeing high interest in its American-made cellular modules, and it has won several significant contracts. Among them is Cherish, a Boston-based company specializing in health and safety monitoring products. Cherish partners with Eagle to source parts for its products made from U.S. materials for communities, where its customers live. According to Founder and CEO of Cherish, Sumit Nagpal: “Our customers trust us to provide products that ensure the health and safety of their loved ones.”. Working with Eagle helps us reinforce this trust by providing cellular modules manufactured in the USA. It is a true win for our customers and the communities we serve.
Mark Kvamme, Co-Founder and Chairman of Eagle Electronics commented on the collaboration with Cherish also, “Our partnership with Cherish Health reflects the market’s faith in our ability to provide a high-quality, state-of-the-art cellular module. We’re excited to expand our customer portfolio as we ramp up production and continue innovating in electronics and cellular module manufacturing”.
In its pursuit of strengthening its domestic manufacturing capabilities, Eagle’s first key partner is Quectel, a global leader in Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. Norbert Muhrer, Quectel’s President and Chief Strategy Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “Many customers are seeking U.S.-made cellular modules. We’re excited to work with Eagle Electronics to offer customers the option of procuring secure, U.S.-made modules and contribute to the resurgence of production jobs in the United States.”
Another important collaboration for Eagle is with Finite State, which specializes in software supply chain security. This partnership will be on producing, compiling, and auditing all firmware for Eagle’s devices domestically. According to Dawn Meyerriecks, former Head of the CIA Directorate of Science & Technology and member of Eagle’s Board, the partnership is important because “Eagle’s domestic production, combined with the partnership with Finite State, will alleviate security concerns that often accompany connected technologies. Together, we believe we can offer the most secure solutions on the market.
Eagle Electronics will transform the U.S. high-tech and semiconductor technology landscape by onshoring critical manufacturing processes. Advanced automated manufacturing combined with strong cybersecurity measures aims at strengthening the U.S. technology supply chain by reducing reliance on international production sources. Eagle Electronics’ innovative method also positions the company as a key player in the growing U.S. electronics manufacturing sector.
Eagle aims to build a secure and resilient supply chain for the U.S. toward its long-term goals in technological independence. The new Ohio facility will be instrumental in pursuing these objectives, both in developing domestic manufacturing capabilities and in expanding the U.S. semiconductor industry. With forward-looking strategies and strong partnerships, Eagle Electronics is ready to drive a significant difference in the U.S. future of technology manufacturing.
